Week 4: Balancing the Board

Weekly Report #4 Balancing the Board: Trials and Triumphs in Week 4

I must admit that this week, which ran from 09/08/2025 to 09/15/2025, was really busy since I had a lot of work to complete for my classes, but I also learned some important lessons. I feel like my classes are becoming more demanding and demanding lately, with assignments ranging from MCQ examinations for Frederick Douglass in AP Language to constant homework in Calculus BC. The fact that I completed the last step of registering the Wakeland Red Cross club in Volunteer Connection and am hopeful that our application will be accepted was my high point for the week. I also had a great promotion when I was promoted from specialist to coordinator in one of my community service groups, and I expect to have a lot more work to accomplish going forward. This week, I hit a low point since couple of things didn’t go as planned. But it was a learning experience and will surely improve for the next time I face a similar situation.

I completed Assessment #3 for ISM, where I was able to read and learn a lot from a single article about AI in the imaging field at NYU Langone Health. The article explained how specialists from different fields are collaborating to develop AI and machine learning algorithms that will enable the achievement of multiple objectives, such as making MRIs ten times faster and detecting diseases with asymptotic symptoms, such as Alzheimer’s and osteoarthritis. I completed my rough draft resume, where I made sure to include my education, my involvement in high school clubs, my role in each club, my skills, my volunteer experience, my contributions to some significant volunteer organizations, and my extracurricular activities. In addition, I have completed the professional clothing do’s and don’ts video for the section on what to wear in a work environment as of this Saturday, September 13th. Tomorrow, I will record the section on what not to wear in a work setting. I am working on my call log and contact list. I said in prior weekly reports that I have a number of professors from different colleges that I have connected with. I will include the details of those two who have responded and are now in communication with me, and I will follow up with others in the days ahead. I did receive three interviews as well, one of which was set for today (Saturday). Regretfully, my professor was unable to attend due to some issues, but perhaps we may reschedule. Additionally, I have another appointment with a professor from JHU on Monday at 5 p.m., and another with a professor from UNT on Tuesday at 6 p.m. I’ll add these professors to my contact list as well, and they’re both online.

Outside of school, I’m also working on creating a Wakeland Red Cross Google Drive folder, which will compile all of the work we perform all year long and serve as a guide for incoming officers.
