Weekly Report #5 Week Five: Calculated Under Pressure

Due to homework, assignments, and examinations in practically every subject, this was the busiest week I’ve had yet. This was probably my first taste of what junior year will be like, and I will need to be more proactive and truly grasp time management if I want to succeed. The highlights of this week were finishing the Red Cross Club drive and the North Texas area accepting our Wakeland Red Cross, which is incredible. We will now have the chance to take more action, which is fantastic, and I’m considering setting up blood drives or a program called Strive to Save Lives. I’m glad to report that this week wasn’t particularly bad for me; my only complaint is that I thought I might have performed better on one exam, but that’s about it. In addition, I participated in a chess tournament this past weekend, and while it was mostly enjoyable, I lost one game from a winning position, but I won’t be too hard on myself because my opponent did a fantastic job in the middle game.

Regarding ISM, I’m looking forward to our upcoming Professional Symposium on the 24th. Additionally, last week we learned about the Symposium’s specifics, and Mr. Ratliff explained to us the dos and don’ts of our tasks as well as the questions that the professionals could have. Along with our expectations, we were also given some reminders regarding attire, group information, parking locations, etc. All in all, I’m eager to visit and participate in the professional panel, networking, and interview. Additionally, on Tuesday of this week, we viewed the professional dressing videos in class. It was enjoyable to watch all of the group movies and find some of them to be rather humorous. I have completed the final copy of my resume and made some major adjustments to its original format. It is presently three pages long, but I am attempting to reduce it to two, and I want to have it corrected and edited by Sunday. Continuing to build on my contact list, I plan to cold-email additional professors on Sunday and record those on my list. I will ensure that my topic proposal for the three paragraphs is completed within the upcoming week. I made sure to complete my fourth research assessment, which taught me about nanoparticles and their many mechanisms. In addition, I am very looking forward to our September Etiquette dinner. I am not sure where we have decided to go yet, but I am confident that the ISM 2s will choose a fantastic location.
