Weekly Report #6 Week Six: Momentum in Motion

Despite being an eventful week, I had a great time overall. I did have a few examinations, as usual, in Calculus BC, AP US History, and then a written paragraph for Lang, which I completed on Monday, September 29. The Symposium, where I had the opportunity to meet with experts, take interviews, and attend a professional panel where we learned more about leaders in their various fields, was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the week for me. One other highlight was undoubtedly the fact that on Saturday, September 27, I had another interview with a professor from Texas A&M who was a pioneer in the fields of microbiological resistance, and the utilization of biophotonics for cancer research. One further benefit is that I feel like I’m improving the more interviews I do, whether they be at symposiums or with experts in fields I’m interested in. I’m glad to report that, although there were a few instances when I might have done better, overall, the week was good. I didn’t have a particularly bad week. The fact that I was unable to play or compete in chess this week may have been a drawback, but I will undoubtedly create time in the days ahead.

In reference to ISM, as I mentioned before, I thought the Professional Symposium was a great success and something I truly appreciated. I did receive comments on my lack of smile during the ISM interview, which I will work to address. I will also work to combining my leadership experiences to a coherent whole. I made sure to submit the topic proposal, which was only three paragraphs long and addressed my topic, my motivation for undertaking it, and my experiences. A few research assessments are approaching, so I must finish them and make sure to turn them in. Additionally, I need to be actively filling up the Contact List journal. I have already completed a few, but I need to update it to include a list of other persons who have been in touch with me or with whom I have had interviews.
