Weekly Report #13 Week 13: Middle Game (11/10/2025-11/17/2025)
This week was one that was balanced, filled with work and then also filled with work for extracurricular activities, and commitments. I had a couple of tests - an AP Seminar presentation, a crucible project and assessment, work for ISM and a lot of club meetings during the week (SNHS, Robotics, BPA, Science UIL). I competed in a chess tournament on Friday afternoon online through chess.com and got to play against individuals in my skill level. I got 3rd place where I competed in the blitz style (3-5 minutes chess). Also, my friends and I all had other commitments planned so didn’t get the opportunity to hang out. On the contrary, I am feeling much better from the cold and all of the symptoms have gone. Over the week, I got the opportunity to complete a lot of work over the weekend for the Red Cross for the North Texas region - particularly for the red cross specialist and then also for the work force engagement coordinator. A highlight for the week was the fact that I got to play chess and compete again after a couple of weeks away from playing competitively and then also that I am feeling much better physically. And didn’t have a low part of the week, except for the fact that one test could have gone better.
For ISM, I continued to work on my original work and gather and expand my knowledge for Tumor-on-a-chip technology. I finished assessment #12 where I focused on microfluidic models and analyzed the various different types of chip technology to focus on what I need to narrow for my model. On Saturday, I started brainstorming for my tumor on a chip technology and then drew how my chip would look, along with working on my research paper, and then this week I will work on making my prototype on CAD software. I have finalized a research question and then the data that I will be using would be publicly available online data in my paper. I am in communication with my mentor to find a time to fix a second meeting and then also contacted professors at UT Southwestern to get an opportunity to meet with them. And then I am continuing to work on my 5 week plan and follow through with that.
Closing this chapter, opening the next.
