Weekly Report #15 Week 15: Mastering the Board (and my workflow) - (12/1/2025-12/8/2025)

This last week has been one that has been productive and has gotten the chance to achieve a lot. Last week, On Saturday, I took the December SAT so the weeks leading up to that involved studying and taking a lot of practice tests. Along with that, me and my team have the robotics competition meet #2 coming up on the 13th so we have been working to get the robot ready for meeting two working on enhancing the intake so the human player would be less utilized along with adding more software updates (finishing up the Automation that is there for about the first 30 seconds of the competition). Most of my extracurriculars have been slowed down due to receiving time off for prepping for tests that usually happen at the end of the semester. I have a couple of tests this week along with Original work being due on Friday so I spent a majority of the time prepping and finishing that.

For ISM, I continued to work on my original work and continue writing my research paper. My research focus is exploring emerging cancer therapeutics through three key questions and focusing on Photodynamic therapy. Answering the questions:

  1. Does PDT kill cancer cells?
  2. If it doesn’t kill them, does PDT make cancer worse?
  3. What happens to normal cells exposed to PDT? Do they become cancerous?

So far in my research paper, I have gotten the abstract, introduction, and mechanisms done and will continue working and should have everything done by tomorrow (Tuesday) or my Wednesday (morning) and then will utilize the following day for revising and editing. I met with my mentor on Wednesday of last week (December 3rd) to talk about original work, getting his feedback and he explained to me some of the hard concepts that I struggled with clearly and in depth. And I also finalized what I will achieve for the final product, where I will actually conduct an experiment with photodynamic therapy.
