Weekly Report #18 Week 18: Position Secured, Preparing the Next Move (1/12/2026-1/19/2026)
Like the previous week, this week was another productive one, and I got the opportunity to get a lot of work completed while also getting a chance to relax over the long weekend. This week wasn’t focused much on robotics since now all that is left is to improve the automation code and continue doing trials, with our next match being on the 7th of February. Mostly this week was spent focusing on academics since I had an AP Physics C final for mechanics as well as a couple of tests and assignments for some other classes. Additionally, I also had tons of work for the Red Cross, where I am in charge of a team of specialists responsible for onboarding all youth volunteers within the North Texas Region. Additionally, some Red Cross club members work as well for our school, where I planned out a couple of things for when our next meeting takes place. I took time and brainstormed a couple of ideas, but I am particularly interested in facilitating a CPR session where volunteers from the NTX region can come to school for a day and allow students the opportunity to learn life-saving skills. I also played tennis on Friday with my friends, along with chess on Monday, which was a great relaxing activity for me.
For ISM, we presented the poster boards during class on Wednesday, and I got the opportunity to see all of my peers’ work on display. Everyone simply showcased their projects, and I thought they were all extremely creative and well done. I started outlining and thinking about my elevator speech that I could give during the presentation, both this Thursday and the following one. Additionally, I have brainstormed what my final product would be that I will submit in April, along with discussing it with my mentor on the 19th. We finalized the calendar along with the 3 parts of my final product: the AI model, a 10-part masterclass on everything photodynamics, and me coding a simulation allowing individuals access to an interactive web-based simulation program that allows users to input their tumor’s parameters and then visualize how light will be distributed throughout the tissue.
