Weekly Report #19 Week 19: Improving the Position One Move at a Time (1/19/2026-1/26/2026)

Like the prior weeks, this was another productive week for me due to the snow holidays and due to the fact that I stayed at home the last couple of days due to me not being a big fan of snow or the winter weather in particular. Along with being cozy and catching up on some shows, I also spent it focusing on academics. Particularly finalizing the presentation for AP Seminar since it is coming up pretty soon. Along with that, we started on AP Physics C: E&M, which I am pretty excited to start learning. I competed in a chess tournament as well this last Saturday; though it didn’t significantly alter my chess rating, it was a nice refresher since I don’t play during the weekdays.

For ISM, we presented the poster boards on Thursday during the Gallery Walk. Though the PM session didn’t have that much traffic, it was still a great opportunity to present my research to everyone and answer any questions that anyone had for me. I also got the opportunity to see others’ poster boards and what they had completed and thought that they all were significantly creative and interesting. During the week, I also worked on refining my elevator speech. On Thursday, I noticed that sometimes I got too technical and that might become too complicated, so ensuring that I explain everything in simpler terms is something I want to work on. On Thursday after the Gallery Walk, I went to Michaels and got the necessary equipment for my other two props for the Showcase and assembled them on Saturday and Sunday. First was the epoxy mold, which basically talks about a limitation of photodynamic therapy, and I represented this by making a mold and putting red beads on the bottom of it, showcasing the cancer at the bottom of it. And I will demonstrate it during the showcase by shining a laser at it and saying how the limitation is being solved through interstitial photodynamic therapy. The other prop that I finalized was the two boxes with 2 vials in each box. Basically I will have four vials showing four different things (effective treatment, ineffective treatment, external factors influencing treatment, and control) through ultraviolet light being shined at the vials (safety glasses provided).
