Week 22: A Championship Week

Weekly Report #22 Week 22: Every Move Matters: A Championship Week (2/9/2026-2/16/2026)

Like I stated in the previous week - this week was spent mostly competing for robotics as well as focusing on academics especially since we had an AP Physics C: E&M Test coming up over electrostatics so I made sure to utilize this long weekend to study for it as well as practice MCQs and FRQs released materials by my teacher as well as a Vocabulary quiz for AP Language and Composition class. Additionally, I finalized the summer applications I had left for the essay sections and did a bit of SAT prep since I will be taking the March 4th SAT offered free by the school. Not only that, but over the weekend, as in the previous week, I spent competing for Wolverine Robotics. I served as the Human Player, participated in the presentation, and was part of Hardware and Outreach activities. Last week at the U-League tournament, we finished 3rd in qualification matches, qualifying for the Semi-regionals, posted a 4-1 record, and won the Control award (for the best and most efficient software and sensor usage). For the semi-regional competition, we again won the Control Award and placed first in the playoff matches. I’ve attached a couple of photos via a Drive link for your review. For ISM, we had our presentation at the library on the 10th for our original work speeches. I overall thought that I really enjoyed it and had a great time presenting my findings however I did go just a tad bit over the time limit at 23 minutes, exceeding the limit by 3 minutes - I felt that couple of the opening slides for me could have been cut shorter and I had one slide that regurgitated some information on the next couple of slides, these are some parts of the presentation that I felt that I could have improved upon but apart from that I felt that it went well and the changes that were needed to be made on my slide show have been fixed. I am continuing to work on my AI model - the mentor visit and Dr. Bagnato’s input from last week were extremely helpful and redirected my focus onto making an AI model that determines the feasibility of PDT at a specific body part. I continue to complete the research assessments for final products weekly, and I follow up in the mentor log when I meet with my mentor.
